Is Facebook finally giving writers their due?

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Facebook, along with fellow digital heavyweight Google, tends to get some stick from content creators, and some of it is justified. You might have heard about some countries, most notably Australia, challenging these companies’ roles as publishers and arguing they should pay much more for the blogs, videos and other content they host.

Recently, Facebook did something that gave just a glimpse of hope for writers and other content producers hoping to make money online when it released its new feature, Bulletin. This smart-looking platform allows users to subscribe to creators’ accounts and even pay for premium content.

Alas, Facebook has not really made an open shop of this. No sooner was it launched than Facebook said it was no longer looking for content creators, with how it selected its current ones remaining something of a mystery.

It seems we may have to wait a while to see if Facebook wants to take on any more Bulletin content creators, but if you’re a writer based in Canada, we’d love to hear from you and give you a chance to make money writing from home. Apply with us today.
